Advancing women's lives through the power of philanthropy.
Alpha Phi Foundation
In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women's fraternities to establish a foundation.
Alpha Phi Foundation is committed to the research and education of women's heart health and the well-being and betterment of the sisters in Alpha Phi. Each year, Alpha Phi Foundation awards a $100,000 Heart to Heart Grant to fund research and educational programs that support the improvement of women's heart health. Alpha Phi Foundation also awards Forget Me Not grants to sisters with great financial need due to natural disasters, medical expenses, and other misfortunes. These grants offer Alpha Phis in need the greatest gift of all: the knowledge that their sisters care and are always there to help. Each year, the Foundation also awards scholarships to outstanding Alpha Phis.
The commitment of our founders to foster a “spirit of love and charity” has stood the test of time and remains as important to Alpha Phi today as it was in 1872. Practicing generosity and seeking to improve the lives of women are basic tenants of our Fraternity.
Red Dress Gala
Red Dress Gala is the most anticipated event of the year for the Delta Tau chapter. Each spring, guests are treated with a live band, silent and live auctions, and a three-course meal. Past auction items have included beach vacations, fishing trips, fine jewelry, and even a precious puppy! New members are presented by their fathers during a truly special time for the families of Alpha Phis.
In 2017, Delta Tau was able to donate over $50,000 to the Alpha Phi Foundation.
Each Fall, the Delta Tau chapter hosts their annual Alpha Phifa soccer tournament on campus. Fourteen fraternity teams compete in a bracket-style tournament for up to six hours of competitive play. The entry fees are used to support the Alpha Phi Foundation and women's heart health. The winning team receives $100 for their philanthropy. It's always a fun time with lots of music, food, and desserts for players and supporters!
